Join Wijdekerk

There are several ways to join Wijdekerk. Below, you will find the options. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send us an e-mail.

The Wijdekerk Street, because together we are the church!

In addition to the general group, we also have some side streets: Wijdekerk Youth, Wijderkerk Women, Wijdekerk Rainbow Parents, and Wijdekerk Parents.

* Come together

Wijdekerk is a place where people can come together and share what difficulties they encounter on their way and in their faith.

* SupportWijdekerk also offers support. It is a place where you can think, ask and share freely in a safe environment. There is room for everybody’s personal process, for mutual recognition and creating awareness, for building up, and exploring.

* Safe spaceWijdekerk wants to be a safe space for all those who participate and therefore we encourage you not to try to convince other people of your own opinions or notions. Everybody should feel free to live according to their beliefs and life stories. It is not about convincing each other, but about coming together.

* PrayerWijdekerk wants to be a place for prayer requests and support through prayer.

Wijdekerk has a closed Facebook group: ‘Wijdekerkstraat’. The side streets have the following groups: ‘Wij de jongeren’, ‘Wij de vrouwen’, 'Wij de regenboog ouders', and ‘Wij de ouders’. These are online places to meet and support each other. A safe space for questions, sharing, and prayers. Because together, we are the church. Welcome. Subscribe through our online form and mention the group(s) you wish to be a part of.

Become Wijdekerk

Help LGBT+ people to find a church in which they feel welcome and accepted, so that they too can experience God’s love (again).

Share your experiences

Wijdekerk is looking for stories and poems that illustrate how you as a gay, lesbian, bi or transgender person or others involved, feel in your church.

 

Stories or poems can also be shared anonymously.

Do you want to share your story without having to write it yourself? Then tell your story in an interview with one of our team members. 

 

Interviews can be shared anonymously as well. Naturally, there needs to be some personal contact with our team member.
